Today's Cup O' Coffee Post #???

You'll find "Real Clear Politics" in the blogroll and if you're in the mood to get lost for a few hours, it's your place. For now though, I want to point you to a first-hand account of the situation in Baghdad from a retired U.S. Army officer. After all, if the MSM isn't going to do the job, it's going to have to be independent first-hand histories that tell the real story of this war.

While you're going that direction, I also want to plug Iraq the Model as a place to get lost for a while.

Although there are various biases in the MSM, don't you think that a retired soilder would have some biases og his own.

Oh yes, of course, the difference here is that:

A) There's no "pretense", or more appropriately, "pretending", to be objective. The whole article starts off more "honest" in this sense.

B) I'm trusting military folks a helluva lot more than I am the Mass Media these days. I've had it with Koran's flushed, bodies piling up in the dome, and all that other "false but accurate" reporting. So I'm much more anxious to hear what someone retired from the military has to say than I am to hear a Columbia School of Journalism graduate who's relying on stringers who know that bombs and blood equal paychecks and the good news doesn't get printed (and hence not paid for).
