Nuff Said. . .
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
And to think?.?.? I'm an atheist and I don't see any problem with it. I guess I'm just not one of those revisionist, self and nation hating atheists.

I am an atheist too. Some things just aren't worth fighting over. I think it is the people who are not comfortable with their own beliefs that continue to fight these stupid battles. You see christians fighting to get the ten commandments in the courtroom and atheists trying to keep God out of the schools. All of this is pointless and only gets people screaming at each other.
Teach your children as you see fit and explain the history and traditions in this country. If you're doing the right thing they will understand.
All that aside, the original pledge did not have the "under God" part. That was added much later. The 50's I think. If the argument was to go back to the original pledge I think they might have a better chance.
For fun, ask people what "the Republic" means. Very few understand that the United States is not a democracy. It was never supposed to be.

Count me in on the "atheist but doesn't hate the pledge" boat.
